Creating an Academy with Sponsors

CASL offers support that is tailored to guide potential sponsors through every stage of the process in the creation of distinctive Church Academies. For further information, click here.

Here are just some of the ways in which we can help:

  • We have established relationships with organisations which will be crucial to your success, including the Department for Education (DfE), specialist consultants and procurement organisations.
  • We have a range of documentation to guide sponsors through the Academy process, as well as examples of successful project stages, such as Expressions of Interest (EoI). For links to example EoIs which we have helped to produce, click on the links below (please note these are PDF files).
  • We have devised bidding systems which have been checked by lawyers and approved by the DfE, so we know that procurement structures are secure and compliant with EU regulations.
  • We have obtained written legal advice on key issues.
  • We have guidance to help sponsors to set out the core determination and values of their Church Academy.
  • We can guide you towards additional, appropriate advice for creating policy and strategy, and to expert legal advice and fund raising expertise.
  • We can play a key role in selecting a School Improvement partner to help to secure transformational change in the new Academy.
